Message I did my best run on my final run of that one track day last summer. I was all over the place at first with 14's high 13's etc. It wasn't until I got the shift points down that I could land the 13.1 at 110mph. Wheels spin for the first 30 - 40 feet easy. I had the AL flywheel with street 555's which made it damn near impossible to time the launch. RPM's to high wheel spin, to low car dies off the line. It's not the AL flywheel either, that's BS on racing. If you can hold it a 4k on a Dyno and punch it, then track is on diff. It's just that the RPM's shoot up so much faster, that the spool up on the turbo's is quicker, so more power to the rear wheels faster, thus causing even more wheel spin to the point where RPM's will hit rev limiter very fast and if you panic and let off to fast, you loose boost and forward progress.

But more than most, bottom line is traction. Sure you took away from your side wall when you went with the bigger rim. Given them less rubber to absorb the TQ and being a street tire means harder compound. So you see why no drag radials in 18" size? There is how ever a Hoosier 18/285/30 slick that you can get if you want to be an 18" rim high roller on the track. Then you could let if all hang out.....lol.

STAGE V++++
Going to XIII and beyond :)
